Microsoft Security Essentials - Turn on Real Time Protection

Microsoft support offers Security Essentials antivirus software as a no-cost download if you have a genuine copy of Windows. Designed to protect computers from viruses, spyware and other malicious software, Security Essentials replaces Microsoft's Live OneCare and Windows Defender solutions, and is targeted at consumers. Businesses with fewer than 10 computers can use this software, but governments, academic institutions and enterprises cannot.

Microsoft Security Essentials (online virus removal) includes a real-time protection feature that scans your computer for malicious software, viruses and spyware. When the program finds an infected item, it displays a prompt that lets you choose to view more information about the item or delete it from your computer. If you decide not to enable this feature when you first set up Microsoft Security Essentials (free virus removal by Microsoft), you can enable it manually to protect your computer.

Microsoft Security Essentials - Turn on Real Time Protection

Instructions:

1. Click "Start" followed by "All Programs," then click "Microsoft Security Essentials" to open the main program window.

2. Select the "Settings" tab, and then click "Real-Time Protection" in the right pane. Click the box next to "Turn on real-time protection (recommended)."

3. Click "Save Changes," then type your Windows administrator password or click "Yes" to confirm if prompted.
