Steps to Fix Corrupted Files in Windows XP :-
- Click "Start," then select "Run."
- Type "cmd" in the "Open" box and press the "Enter" key. The Command Prompt window opens.
- Type "chkdsk volume:/r" at the command prompt and press "Enter." The Chkdsk utility automatically scans the XP operating system for corrupted files and repairs them.
- Press the "Y" key, then press "Enter," if prompted by the system, to schedule the Chkdsk utility. This warning appears only if the disk is in use when you want to run the utility.
- Restart the computer. Chkdsk automatically starts and repairs the corrupted files.
