How to get rid of irritating Malware from your computer

Malware are programmes that are written to infect your pc in the backdrop. They are malicious softwares which are highly unsafe to your computer and left untreated it will cause a hard drive crash. As soon as you find that you got your computer system infected with malware it is essential that you till to get ride of it. The blog post tries to elaborate on the steps needs for malware removal.

There are programs like Malwarebytes. Which can be used for malware scan and removal, and the best part about Malwarebytes is that it is free.

The steps that are written here were suggested to me by a Microsoft Tech Support representative when I got a malware infection last night. I am blogging this so that people who look for Microsoft Support can try this before going ahead and paying for a technical resolution to Microsoft Tech Support.
  • First, click on this link and download the program to your "My Documents" folder.: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam-download.php You will have to run this program in safe mode and My Documents is one of the few folders you can access in safe mode.
  • To get your computer in safe mode you can find the steps provided here at How to start your computer in safe mode.
  • Your computer will automatically boot into safe mode. Click on your user name and ok. When the desktop comes up, the screen will be black. This is normal for safe mode. Open your my documents folder, and find the yellow diamond icon and double click on it.
  • This will bring up a blue screen and ask to press any key.
  • After you do that, type in the number 2 and press enter.
  • It will turn off all processes and start the program. It usually takes 5 minutes or less to complete. The process will attempt to clean temporary files and ask you to clean the registry. Answer this with a "y" and press enter. When it is done, put your computer into regular mode by the same process as safeboot, only in reverse. Click Start, run and type in msconfig, go to the boot.ini tab and uncheck the safeboot box. Click apply, close and restart.
  • This will have removed the Malware and your computer will boot in normal mode. It does remove the desktop background, so you may have to go back to display properties and change the desktop background again.
