    Disable Microsoft Security Essentials

    Microsoft Security Essentials(MSE) is the free antivirus software providing by Microsoft at free of cost for genuine Windows 7, genuine Windows Vista & genuine Windows XP users. Microsoft Security Essential (MSE) is Microsoft’s latest antivirus software. It is particularly designed for individual consumer computer using the nominal resource footprint possible to provide complete anti-malware protection and it also includes a firewall to protect you while browsing the Web Microsoft Security Essentials(MSE) regularly downloads updates to the virus definition files that are used to recognize virus, malwares, spyware, and other potentially unwanted software.

    In few conditions we may need to disable Microsoft Security Essentials(MSE) in order to install other software.

    Simple steps to disable Microsoft Security Essentials(MSE):-
    • Click on start button
    • Then open Microsoft Security Essentials(MSE)
    • When the application opens, go to the "Settings" tab.
    • Then select “Real-time protection” (on the left side of the window).
    • Click the check box next to "Turn on real-time protection (recommended)."
    • Then click Save changes button.
    Note:-
    • 1. Disabling your antivirus software is that it’s a very bad idea. It might be a disaster for your system. I suggested to Re-enable Microsoft Security Essentials as soon as possible to safeguard your computer.

    If I install another antivirus, one that doesn't slow-down my PC.., then I will need to disable MSE

    Click Start -> in Execute type Msconfig and
    hit the Enter key ->
    In the System Configuration Window Click the
    Tab Start Up scroll down to the start up
    item Microsoft Security Client and Un-Check
    the entry -> Click Apply and close then
    you will need to restart your computer.
